FELT space is for movers, bodyworkers, artists and researchers to come together with contact improvisations and somatics at heart— for practice, research and art-making.

The space nurtures grounding in felt sense, silence, ongoing inquiry, and care— an invitation to engage wholebodiedly in conversation with the deeper self, others, and forces of nature, and to move with life from there.

behind FELT is Julie Agnes and Sebastian Zahler.

Julie is an interdisciplinary artist engaging with contact improvisation and somatics as research on moving with forces of nature, in dance and in life— contemplating ecological attention, imagination and engagement. She is deeply inspired by the more-than-human world, silence and space, and finds in dance improvisation a practice and support for embodying heartfelt conversation with life and art. Besides facilitation and space-making, she works with clay and textile- through all of her work, interested to encourage relationship with body, earth, and a deeper self. Earthen-studio.com is the vessel for her artistic work.

Sebastian is a dancer and researcher, interested in contact improvisation as embodied research practice, contemplative practice, and practice for the cultivation of generosity and care. Upon completing his PhD in movement neuroscience at the University of California, he found a new teacher in contact improvisation. Dance led him to the other side of the world, where he now facilitates classes and workshops in Northern Thailand. Besides dancing, he is working to integrate his scientific and embodied research through the educational platform scienceofsomatics.com.
